AED (Automated External Defibrillator) Training Course

Who this course is aimed at:

This course is designed for personnel who wish to use this life saving piece of equipment. Course participants must hold a current HSE First Aid at Work qualification.

Course objectives/key benefits:

By the end of the course delegates will have: -

• A clear understanding of the working of AED equipment
• The methods of using an AED successfully
• Had practical experience of using an AED

Course content:

• Basic overview of anatomy and physiology of the heart
• Review of CPR
• Basic life support/AED algorithm
• An introduction to the AED/Dynamic Risk Assessment and Health and Safety Issues
• Practical workshop and scenarios

Training method:

Seminar including practical and group work.

Course outcome/qualification:

Participants who successfully demonstrate the required practical skills will gain a MB Safety Training certificate that is valid for 1 year.

Pre-requisite knowledge/qualification:

Discuss with your manager what you should gain from the training and identify any problems that have occurred in the past.
