Who this course is aimed at:

All staff in the workplace who should be aware of the risk of fire and how to act responsibly in an emergency.

Course objectives/key benefits:

By the end of the course delegates will have: -

• An understanding of the law appertaining to fire safety
• A greater understanding of the hazards of fire
• An understanding of the nature of fire and how it spreads
• Knowledge of the threat fire poses to people and property

• Common causes and consequences of fires in the workplace
• Responsibilities for fire safety
• Fire safety within your company
• Fire extinguishers - their types and uses
• The dangers of smoke and smoke travel
• Means of escape, fire alarms, emergency lighting, keeping records

Training method:

Seminar including group work.

Course outcome/qualification:

MB Safety Training certificate that is valid for 1 year.

Pre-requisite knowledge/qualification:

Discuss with your manager what you should gain from the training and identify any problems that have occurred in the past.
