First Aid at Work 3 Day Training Course (HSE Approved)

Who this course is aimed at:

This course is a far more intense programme, applicable to anyone who in the course of their job, might be called upon to administer first aid to anyone, pending arrival of the emergency services.

Course objectives/key benefits:

The main objective of the course is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills and therefore the confidence to use life saving techniques to assist in an emergency situation

Course content:

• The principles and practices of first aid - and the priorities to apply them
• Dealing with an unconscious person - recovery position
• Breathing and airway problems
• Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Bleeding and its control
• Management of a trauma victim
• Scene safety and management
• Various medical conditions and how to treat them

Training method:

Seminar including practical and group work and all participants will be assessed by means of a short written paper, a demonstration of practical skills, and, if applicable, an oral assessment.

Course outcome/qualification:

HSE Approved certificate that is valid for 3 years.
