Paediatric First Aid Training Course (Meets Early Years Foundation & OFSTED Requirements)

Who this course is aimed at:

Professionals whose occupation involves the care of infants or children so that they can deliver first aid and life saving techniques in an emergency situation to babies and young children, until more qualified help arrives.

Course objectives/key benefits:

The main objective of the course is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills and therefore the confidence to use life saving techniques to assist in an emergency situation

Course content:

• First Aid in the childcare environment
• Assessment of the patient
• Dealing with an unconscious person - recovery position
• Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Choking, breathing and airways
• Burns & scalds
• Head Injuries & Spine Injuries
• Bleeding and wounds
• Treating various symptoms of shock
• Various medical conditions and how to deal with them

Training method:

Seminar including practical, group work and continuous assessment by the trainer.

Course outcome/qualification:

MB Safety Training certificate that is valid for 3 years.
